The below Schematic Map Drawing gives a clear overview of the Historical Borders of the Nation of Bodyul, better known internationally as Tibet. The Map shows the borders of Tibet as it existed roughly between 1900 AD and 1949 AD. At the Time 'Tibet' was an independant Nation based on the ethnic and cultural unity of a variety of Tibetan Peoples (Tribes). Among them the Khampa's, the Sera, the Yugur and many more.
Defined in Colour on the Map are first and foremost the outlines of the Ethnic State of Tibet as it existed in its largest form. Parts of Tibet are currently included into the States of Pakistan, India, Sikkim, Bhutan, and Bangladesh, and into the Chinese Provinces and Territories of Gansu Province, Qinghai Province, Sichuan Province and Yunnan Province. What is left of Tibet today is known as Tibet Autonomous Region or Xizhang of China.
Additional borders depicted in thick grey lines on the Map are the National Borders of surrounding states and delineated borders of Chinese Provinces and Territories.
The Map of tibet further includes: Names and locations of the Three Main Provinces of Tibet, some of their sub-divided regions, plus the locations, historic Names and current names of Main Cities, Towns and Population centers of historical Tibet (places often defined by their specific Monastery or Temple) as well as the locations and names of Holy Mountains where possible.
