Zhongwei Report - Zhongwei Hotels

Currently the Listing of Hotels in Zhongwei Town is brief but still extensive for such a small and otherwise out of the way Town. The most popular Hotel by tradition is the Western Hotel. In addition the town center has been enriched by the Zhongwei Hotel, the Huaming Hotel and the Sunshine Hotel, Jinshapo Hotel, Huanghe Hotel and Juxianyuan Hotel, all strewn around the old city center near the main landmarks of Gao Miao Temple complex, Gulou and the location of the Peoples' Market.

A few additional smaller hotels can be found at a slightly further distance from the town hotspots. The Longhui Hotel for instance is found west adjacent the main Train Station building and the friendly hotel stands on the south east corner of its entrance square surrounded by hostels and cheap restaurants.

A variety of hostels is situated around the large square south and in front of the Train Station (See more below in "Hostels in Zhongwei").

WESTERN HOTEL:

Situated in the center of Town due two blocks south of the Gao Miao Temple and slightly further away from the Train Station. With the Airport situated due north-west of Town on the edge of the desert and farmland, travel time is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes.

Listing of Hotels near Shapotou Yellow River Scenic Zone:

SHAPOTOU HOLIDAY HOTEL:

Located east adjacent Shapotou Village, which in the last century served as the major crossing point for traversing across the Yellow River. In the past, anyone heading across the river would have to make use of the small vessels carrying freight and camels across, or make use of pig skin floating devices to uphold rafts or carry one person. Situated at walking distance from the former ferrying point, this Hotel is the only hotel which allows direct acces to the Yellow River and the Shapotou scenic zone including its (Dawan) Great Wall section while lying just a tad bit too far from Zhongwei Town for kozy after hours or convenient rural market shopping. It will also do fine as a base from which to scout out the landmarks of the wider regions as it has easy access to the network of expressway crossing the south and west of Ningxia Region.

There is no additional information available on the hotels and hostels of Zhongwei.

The Junyue Hotel is situated on the south side of Gulou East Street not too far from the Western Bus Terminal and in view of the Chaoyang Hostel. However it is hard to locate on any map.

HOSTELS IN ZHONGWEI:

The majority of the Hostels available can be found clustered around the access square to the Zhongwei Train Station. Among them currently: Guanghe Hostel, Lantian Hostel, Fuxiang Hostel and Jinrun Hostel.

In addition to the hostels found around the Station Building there is the Friendship Hostel on Changcheng (Great Wall) west street. It stands in the same street as the Zhongwei Hotel not too far east from it.

Situated much further away Chaoyang Hostel can be found in the extreme east part of Zhongwei Town on S201 Road (extension of Guluo East Street) conveniently near the eastern Bus Station (Zhongwei Car & Passenger Terminal officially).

Another Hostel, the Shunyuan Hostel is found along the north side of S201 Provincial road in the rural settlement of Zi Jianganzi, in the far east of Town at a point well beyond the (Eastern) Bus Terminal of Zhongwei.
